2016: Closing of the blog
On May 16, 2016 the blog "Megamind" was closed. All materials were postponed back for Habrahabr.
"Time goes and everything changes, and the world of development and programming and in general the Internet, develops with high speed. Looking at what occurs on "Megamind' to us it became obvious that in the modern vertically integrated world of information technologies where Amazon any more not online store, but Apple just about will begin to release cars, we cannot separate, actually, development and management of it as frequent it is the things which are not simply interconnected, but inseparable".
Thus, the Megamind project in fact stopped the existence as a separate resource.
2015: Start of the blog
In January, 2015 it became known that Habrahabr started the new website "Megamind" for startups and managers in IT. Service of collective blogs for programmers of Habrahabr.ru was halved: from it the new Megamind project which is positioned as community of managers in the field of information technologies separated.
As reported on the website of "Megamind", the project is created for managers, project managers and digital products. It was supposed that participating in collective discussion, they will be able to share experience and successful cases, extending the working techniques.
"Megamind" — the younger brother of Habrahabr, a popular resource for IT specialists. The project was selected in an independent resource as a result of separation from Habrahabr of those hubs in which users placed information of mainly managerial character and not belonging to programming and other subjects from area of professional knowledge of IT specialists.
The new website works on the same engine, as Habrahabr.ru and Geektimes. Judging by publications on "Megamind", in it selected hubs (thematic sections) about project management, Growth hacking, study in IT and different intstrument for increase in productivity of work.
According to the head of Habrahabr Denis Kryuchkov, separation of Geektimes and Habrahabr made the last more narrowly targeted project for programmers. Not to lose audience of managers and "Megamind" was started.
"On "Megamind" we used structure and ideology of Geektimes, without personalisation, as on Habré. This branch of our framework well proved, we plan and further it actively to develop, modifying for each project individually, depending on tasks. We want to create a resource on which users will have an opportunity to share the reasons not about technical, but about organizational and marketing components of any idea, business or process. Recently on Habré it is harder and harder to tell about such things all, especially after selection of Geektimes from it. Habr became more hardcore and not to lose audience which interests questions of management and management, we made the decision to make the new project", - Denis Kryuchkov reported, the publisher of Habrahabr[1].
It is not going to create separate edition for work of "Megamind", however the project will be engaged in involvement of new editors.
The combined team which is engaged in development of Habrahabr and Geektimes will work on "Megamind". A part of edition Geektimes will be engaged in "Megamind", plus we actively employ new authors. Considering that the technologies used in the project are used for a long time by us, and many processes are smoothly running, investments into the project not such big. Looking at good start of Geektimes, we expect that "Megamind" will become not only the profitable, but also successful project soon enough, - Denis Kryuchkov twisted.
