2024: Echelon Systems became the owner of the Moscow Brewery
On April 16, 2024, it became known that the founder of CJSC Moscow Brewing Company (MPK) was the structure of Echelon Systems Ltd., registered in the UAE. The change of ownership is expected to facilitate the purchase of imported ingredients and equipment.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, Echelon Systems Ltd. was established in Dubai at the end of 2023. Previously, the shareholder of IPC was a Cypriot structure with the same name - Echelon Systems Ltd. Forward Legal lawyer Maxim Ignatov notes that the change of the head structure from Cyprus to the UAE corresponds to the trend of transferring the management of holdings to friendly jurisdictions. The fact is that operations with Cypriot companies are limited to special economic measures of the Russian Federation.
The shareholders of Echelon Systems from the UAE include Premier Beverages P.B., which owns part of the brands produced at IPC, and HC Oasis, which is associated with the creators of IPC - Evgeny Kashper and Alexander Lifshits. In addition, Echelon Systems shareholders include IPC CEO Igor Dementiev, board member Olga Averyanova, ex-IPC CEO Alexander Ivanchikov and Andrei Molodykh, who served as the company's financial director.
For MPK, which produces products under the brands Khamovniki, Zhiguli Barnoye, Trekhgornoye, Motor and others, a change of ownership can be useful for importing hops. In addition, as the founder of the network of beer stores "I take the day off" Nikolai Zhelagin notes, the purchase of foreign equipment and spare parts will be simplified, the supply of which to Russia is difficult due to the current geopolitical situation. At the same time, Igor Khavsky, co-owner of the SVAM Group distributor and Gletcher brewery, adds that the change of ownership is designed to improve control over the enterprise and simplify the payment of dividends.[1]
