2025: Detection of E. coli in caviar
In December 2025, Roskachestvo conducted a study of 21 brands of salmon fish caviar. In the products of 5 brands - "Moscow Fish Factory," "Russian Sea," "Red Gold," "Delicatessen," "Red Caviar" - bacteria of the E. coli group were found.
As the RIA Novosti representative of Roskachestvo told the publication, the products of the brands: "Moscow Fish Factory," "Russian Sea," "Red Gold," "Delicatessen," "Red Caviar," "Very Tender," "365 Days," "Kamchatka Sea," "Meridian,"Moscow "On the Wave," "Putin," Auchan"," "Korsakov," VkusVill"Tungutun," Tunaycha"Avacha,", "," Sakha, "Sakhalinskiy," Sakhalin ikorny house, "Gorchakov," All tested samples lacked pathogens, including salmonella and staphylococcus, as well as parasites.
The excess of the indicator of total bacterial contamination (KMAFAnM) was noted in the brands "MorMer" and "Gorchakov." In the caviar "Moscow on the wave" recorded an excess of the norms for the number of yeast.
In Delicatesska brand caviar manufactured according to GOST, non-compliance with the standard for the amount of salt was revealed - 3.2%, while the norm is 4-7%. Products of the 365 days brand, produced according to technical conditions, contain more than 5% salt, which exceeds the Roskachestvo standard (2-5%). In 12 samples of various brands, the liquid (juice) content exceeded the limit of 1% established by the organization's standard, ranging from 1.6 to 9.3%.
In the caviar of the Avacha brand, a DNA test revealed a discrepancy with the type of fish declared on the jar: instead of pink salmon caviar, the jar contained more expensive chum caviar. This fact is a violation of technical regulations. Roskachestvo suggests that this is the result of an error in production.
According to RIA Novosti, after the study, a number of manufacturers reported planning internal inspections. The Metro retail chain sent a request to the supplier of Gorchakov brand caviar. Retailer "Auchan" carried out corrective measures with manufacturers of products of brands "Auchan" and "Avacha."[1]
