2023: Putin's order to create a film cluster

President RFVladimir Putin approved the list of instructions following a visit to the exhibition "Development of the creative economy in Russia" on May 30, 2023. One of them, as reported on the Kremlin's website, concerns the creation in Moscow of a special economic zone in the film industry - an international film cluster.

After February 2022, the largest Hollywood film studios, in particular Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal, suspended their activities in Russia. After that, about 11.5% of cinemas closed in the country.[1]
