History

2025: Obtaining Aviation Engineering Developer's Certificate

Rosaviatsia issued a certificate of the developer of aviation equipment to the Moscow Research Institute of Radio Communications (MNIIRS). It covers areas of activity related to the development of systems, satellite communications voice communications means of digital exchange, sound and data sound equipment, video conference warning systems and passenger entertainment in the civil aviation segment. MNIIRS announced this on November 13, 2025.

Now MNIIRS can act as a supplier of equipment for domestic aircraft manufacturers and offer modern satellite communication systems and passenger entertainment. The document confirms that all stages of equipment development - from design to testing - in the company are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

MNIIRS creates various satellite communication systems and on-board equipment for state customers. A few years ago, we decided to apply our experience in the civil aviation market, and now our institute is ready to offer airlines modern, certified communication and entertainment systems for passengers that can replace foreign analogues, "said Alexander Matyukhin, chief designer of MNIIRS.

MNIIRS develops and manufactures digital communication complexes that can be operated on mobile facilities; data transmission systems that provide efficient high-speed reception and transmission of traffic when operating through Russian geostationary satellites, as well as complexes and radio communication systems with astronauts.

2018: Owner

According to information as of November 2018, the owner of the Open Joint Stock Company "Moscow Research Institute of Radio Communications" (OJSC) was the Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz).
