2022: Creating a farm with robotic milking of cows in 5 minutes

At the end of August 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia announced the construction of a livestock farm in the republic equipped with a robotic milking system. The project is implemented by the agricultural production cooperative (SKHPK) "New Way."

According to the department, the system works as follows: if the cow is time for milking, the doors will automatically open in front of it, the animal will enter the milking zone, and the robot will collect milk in 5-7 minutes. It will immediately go for express analysis in terms of quality parameters. If there are deviations, the automation will stop milking and inform the operator about it.

A farm with robotic milking of cows was built in Chuvashia

According to Data Bridge analysts, released in 2022, the global technology market for robotic milking is $5 billion. In subsequent years, sales of such systems will grow by about 11% annually. According to the study, the level of robotization in certain countries, for example, in Sweden, Holland, Denmark, reaches 40-50%. In the United States, more than 500 milking robots are installed annually, in Germany - more than 700.

Russia is still lagging behind the leaders, the share of robotic farms in the country does not exceed 10%. Robotization began with the Vologda Oblast, where the first DeLaval installations were installed.

Robotic cow milking systems will be one of many investment projects planned by the authorities of Chuvashia for 2022. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, in 2022 it is planned to implement 118 investment projects totaling 3.3 billion rubles. Thanks to this, 248 new jobs will be created. In particular, more than 50 livestock farms for 5 thousand heads are planned to be built (reconstructed) in Chuvashia. There are also plans to introduce new storage facilities for grains, vegetables and potatoes.[1]
