Northern railroad, joint stock company (SZhD)

Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Syktyvkar, Vorkuta – all these cities connects among themselves the Northern railroad which unrolled length contains more than 8.5 thousand kilometers, a half of which is operated in the conditions of Far North.

2019: The Russian Railway invests 25.9 billion rubles in development of the Northern railroad

Investment volume which will be sent in 2019 to development of the Northern railroad of JSC "Russian Railways" will be 25.9 billion rubles that by 1.5 times exceeds an indicator of previous year. On January 28 the press service of the company reports about it.

The investment program of the enterprise includes development of railway approaches to ports of the Northwest of Russia, reconstruction at Cherepovets-II stations, the Buoy, Sharya, Losta in the Vologda region of SZhD, reconstruction of railway bridges through Northern Dvina, Unezhma and Onega in the Arkhangelsk region, upgrade and major repair of a railway track, some other objects.

Also financing will be aimed at the development of locomotive economy and repair of the operating traction rolling stock. The investment program of the Northern railroad in 2019 included the projects connected with development of passenger infrastructure and also increase in safety of citizens on objects of railway transport.
