History
2025: Attracting investment worth 150 billion rubles for the construction of an unmanned center to increase cargo flows
On February 11, 2025, the Association of Exporters and Importers (AEI) of Russia spoke about the initiative to create an unmanned transport and logistics center in the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port in the Krasnodar Territory. It is assumed that this will solve the problem of the shortage of throughput capacity of the facility.
According to estimates, exports from the port of Novorossiysk by 2030 will increase from 160 million to 250 million tons per year. To improve the transport logistics of Novorossiysk, AEI experts propose to separate cargo and passenger flows, create an unmanned center, and implement a number of other measures. Total investments in these projects are estimated at 150 billion rubles.
There is a tendency to increase export cargo flows with the current shortage of throughput capacity. As the North-South transport corridor develops, freight turnover through the port of Novorossiysk is expected to multiply. Already, a deficit in the throughput capacity of the transport infrastructure has been achieved both inside the port and in terms of access roads, the AEI notes. |
Within the framework of the project, it is proposed to implement an experimental legal regime for testing unmanned logistics technologies in the port. This approach is intended to improve the synchronization of cargo transportation, and therefore increase throughput. In addition, it is planned to build a high-tech container terminal, reconstruct Portovaya Street with the formation of an interchange over the railway tracks, as well as additional tracks and a fleet for receiving cars. In order to improve logistics, the authors of the project also propose to create special intercepting storage sites outside Novorossiysk. It is claimed that this will help to solve the "critical problem for the city of the load on the road network due to the shortage of driveways."[3]
