2024: Allocation of 2 billion rubles for modernization by the Government of the Russian Federation
In May 2024, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the allocation of 2 billion rubles from the federal budget of Russia for the modernization of the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant. It is assumed that thanks to this financing, the enterprise will be able to significantly expand production capacity.
According to the press service of the Government of Karelia, the allocated funds will go to the reconstruction of hydraulic structures and industrial facilities. The reconstruction and re-equipment of the plant will increase its actual capacity and create conditions for the construction of modern civilian vessels.
In addition, part of the money will be used to renovate technical vessels, such as tugs, liquefied gas bunkers, pilot ships and dredging vessels. The company expects that this work will contribute to the safety of sea and river navigation and the development of sea transport routes in Russia, including the development of the Northern Sea Route, which is a transport corridor for the export of products to friendly countries.
It is important to complete the work as soon as possible to establish its own production of all the necessary equipment, key units and units and achieve technological independence in this area, "Mikhail Mishustin emphasized at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers on May 21, 2024. |
