2022: Users spent $5.6 billion in a year

Users of the popular OnlyFans service, where everyone can sell their sex content, spent $5.6 billion on the platform in 2022. This is about 17% more compared to the result for 2021, when expenses were estimated at $4.8 billion. Such data at the end of August 2023 was disclosed by the British company Fenix International, the parent structure of OnlyFans.

OnlyFans users, as noted by Business Insider, actively spend money on candid photos, videos, chats and much more. The OnlyFans platform receives 20% of all receipts, while 80% goes to content creators. In 2022, Fenix International received revenue of $1.09 billion, while a year earlier this figure was $932 million. At the same time, net profit increased on an annualized basis by approximately 24% - from $325 million to $404 million.

The popularity of the OnlyFans service continues to grow. The total number of authors amounted to 3.2 million in 2022, which is 47% more than in 2021, when 2.2 million participants published content. The number of fans on an annualized basis rose by about 27% - from 188 million to 238.8 million.

A surge in interest in OnlyFans was recorded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the business has continued to grow steadily. It is noted that the growth in the number of OnlyFans authors from 2021 to 2022 was ahead of both the growth rate of income and the growth rate of new fans. This suggests that the OnlyFans content market is getting saturated, although it continues to show positive dynamics. The most popular ways to make money on OnlyFans include subscriptions, direct communication with authors, recommendations and pay-per-view content. Some platform members make millions of dollars a year.^[1]
