Panda Security

Originally the company was focused on production of the antivirus software, afterwards it expanded a line of the products at the expense of the applications including a firewall, applications on detection of spam and spyware, technology for prevention of cyber-crimes and also other management systems and utilities of security for home and corporate users.

The products Panda contain security aids for home and corporate users, including protection against cyber-criminals and different types of malware which are capable to do harm to IT-systems, for example, spam, hackers, spies, dozvonshchik and undesirable web content, also as well as detection of WiFi-invasions. Its registered technology under the name TruPrevent represents a set of the pro-active tools intended for blocking of unknown viruses and invasions. In 2007 Panda produced new model of security under a brand name of Collective Intelligence which uses grid computing technologies for collecting and detection of malware.

Panda Software has clients in more than 200 countries of the world, its offices are located in more than 50 countries of the world, including Uruguay, the USA, Canada, Germany, China, Great Britain, France, Thailand, Greece, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Peru, Bulgaria, Pakistan, Poland, Turkey, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. In 2003 Panda Software opened the representations in Japan, Argentina, Korea and Australia.

Panda Security is estimated by analysts of Gartner as the technology innovator. Among technology milestones of the company it should be noted that it the first released the security systems based on concepts of SaaS (Security as a Service), or anti-virus solutions which provide protection "from a cloud" (cloud computing). They are model-based security called in Panda Collective intelligence (Collective Intelligence) presented at the market in 2007.

Panda Security in the anti-virus industry competes with many companies among which it should be noted Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee and Trend Micro.

2012

The Panda Security company and Microsoft company signed at the beginning of 2012 the agreement on cooperation for the purpose of development of "cloud" services of antivirus protection based on Windows Azure. The new version of Panda Cloud Office Protection 6.0 is located on Windows Azure, the "cloud" platform developed for placement, scaling of web applications and also management by them. Windows Azure uses several security levels which provide the maximum protection of the placed data and applications. The Panda Security company transfers the new solutions to Windows Azure base to have an opportunity to service a bigger number of computers, effectively to develop service in the new countries and not to allow idle time of service. The Windows platform of Azure provides proper working conditions and allows the company to support the majority of the technologies which are used based on the original platform.

2005

In 2005 Panda Security was the fourth world's largest producer of anti-virus solutions from market shares of 3.2%. The company which for 100% belonged Urizarbarrena earlier on April 24, 2007 announced sale of a 75% share to the Southern European investment group Investindustrial and Gala Capital private company. On July 30, 2007 the company changed the name with Panda Software to Panda Security, and Urizarbarrena transferred control to Jorge Dinares of Jorge Dinares. A year later, on June 3, 2008, the Board of Directors voted for removal from Dinares's (Dinares) position and appointment to its post Juan Santana holding at that time a position of CFO.

1997

Since 1997, the company is present at list 500 of the most quickly growing companies of Europe. Panda Software is a market leader in Spain and in 1998 became the leading European developer of the antivirus software. In 2003 Panda Software reached 1000% revenue growth in the world.
