2024: Construction of a cluster for 60 billion rubles
In September 2024, plans were announced in the Tyumen region for the construction of the Pearl of Siberia tourist cluster with an investment of ₽60 billion. The phased implementation of the project is designed until 2035, said the Governor of the Tyumen Region Alexander Moor.
According to TASS, the central objects of the tourist cluster will be a two-level indoor ski tunnel and a thermal entertainment center dedicated to the theme of the ancient thermal sea. This project is being created as part of a partnership with the Туризм.РФ corporation, which was recorded in an agreement signed by the government of the Tyumen region and the corporation in 2022. This agreement provides for two main directions: the creation of a tourist cluster around the regional center of winter sports "Pearl of Siberia" and the construction of a four-star hotel in Tobolsk.
It is planned that the new year-round thermal resort will have about 1.5 thousand rooms, which will accommodate up to 3 thousand tourists. The cluster will include a sports complex, tourist infrastructure and a division of the intercollegiate campus. The cluster is planned to be located on an area of about 260 hectares.
According to Governor Alexander Moor, there are already five potential investors, including representatives of both the local business community and large federal companies. The cluster is expected to create new jobs and attract tourists not only from Russia, but also from other countries, which will significantly affect the development of the region's tourism industry and provide a year-round flow of visitors.
The implementation of the Pearl of Siberia cluster is aimed at developing year-round tourism in the Tyumen region. In addition to sports facilities, the project includes the creation of unique tourist routes, as well as the active development of thermal resorts, which will make the region more attractive for vacationers all year round.[1]
