2024: Discovery
In early September 2024, a new medical university was opened in Russia on the basis of the Russian Scientific Center for Surgery named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky, where future doctors will study advanced technologies, including bioprinting and regenerative medicine. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin congratulating the staff of the university, stressing the uniqueness of this educational institution, which combines theoretical training with the practical development of modern medical technologies.
The university, based on the famous Center for Surgery named after Academician Boris Petrovsky, became the first educational platform in Russia where students will not only receive deep theoretical knowledge, but will also participate in real medical research using advanced technologies. The center has a rich scientific tradition in the fields of cardiovascular, thoracic surgery, transplantology and has a multidisciplinary clinic, which creates unique opportunities for basic research and the development of new approaches to the treatment of diseases.
As Mikhail Mishustin noted, the opening of this university is an important step in the development of Russian health care. The university provides students with the opportunity to participate in research in the field of regenerative medicine and bioprinting - areas that are already shaping the future of medical science. Thanks to modern infrastructure, students will master the methods of high-tech surgical care, diagnostics and medical rehabilitation.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that the history of the Russian Scientific Center for Surgery, on the basis of which the university was created, began in 1963. The center was named after Academician Boris Petrovsky, the founder of one of the world's largest scientific schools in the field of surgery. For more than half a century, the center has served as a leading institution in surgical research and development.[1]
