Pevek Urban District Administration

Pevek (chuk. "Pagyt-canay") is a city in the Far East of Russia, the administrative center of the urban district of PevekChukotka Autonomous Okrug. It is the northernmost city in Russia. History

2015: Reorganization into Pevek Urban District

2011

1967

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR on April 6, 1967, the working village of Pevek was transformed into a city of regional subordination with the same name. The Village Council was renamed the City Council of Workers' Deputies.

1949

On December 14, 1949, by decision No. 788 of the executive committee of the Khabarovsk Regional Council of Workers' Deputies, the village of Pevek, Chaunsky District, Chukotka National District, Kamchatka Region, Khabarovsk Territory, was classified as a working settlement and the village Council was formed.

1933: Creation of Chaunsky district

In July 1933, the Chaunsky district was created as part of the Chukotka National District, the center of which was the Pevek settlement.
