2021: Electronic Arts bought Playdemic for $1.4 billion
At the end of June 2021, Electronic Arts announced the purchase of the Playdemic mobile game studio from Warner Bros. Games. The deal is estimated at $1.4 billion, its closure is expected in mid-2022.

In 2017, Warner Bros. Games (formerly known as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) announced that its label TT Games acquired British Playdemic. It was originally planned that Playdemic would develop new Lego mobile games, but ultimately the studio closed its Lego games to focus on Golf Clash.
For Electronic Arts, the acquisition of Playdemic is part of the company's growth strategy in mobile gaming development. The company noted that the portfolio and talents of Playdemic will significantly affect the speed of implementation of tasks.
