Pratum Integrum

Pratum Integrum ("undisturbed meadow," Latin) is an orchestra playing music of the Baroque and Classicism era on historical instruments. The name of the orchestra in Latin means "undisturbed meadow": we mean the extensive repertoire of the XVII-XIX centuries, in which there are still many unknown, but rare works in beauty.

Pratum Integrum first presented more than two hundred compositions to Russian listeners in a variety of genres, from sonatas and concerts to operas and cantatas. Among the most notable premieres are Eustigneus Fomin's melodrama "Orpheus and Eurydice," Lully's ballet "Seasons," Hebel's "Passion for John," Gebel S. Bach's "Passion for Mark" in the reconstruction of J. Boysen, concert performances of Gluck's "Orpheus and Eurydice," Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas," Traetta's "Antigone."

2021

Among the striking projects of recent years are performances with world famous conductors, recognized authorities in the field of historical performance (R. Gebel, S. Montanari, R. Hollingworth), soloist singers (V. Sabadus, F. Aspromonte, Yu. Minenko, D. Idrisova, V. Berzhanskaya).

2020: Recording of three orchestral pieces from Bortnyansky's opera "The Seigneur Festival"

The first part of the symphony of Dmitry Bortnyansky's opera also exists in arrangement for the clavier. Using this arrangement and not having access to the score, the Baroque ensemble tried to restore the Symphony and recorded its reconstruction on the record "Russian Music of the 18th Century" (Melody C 04695-6, 1974). The recording interested Pavel Serbin, artistic director of the Pratum Integrum orchestra, who got the idea to perform the Symphony based on Bortnyansky's original score.

In this performance, the Pratum Integrum recording of 2020 included three orchestral pieces from the "Senor Festival." For more details, see Senor's Festival (Bortnyansky Opera).

2013: Tour in the Netherlands with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation

In 2013, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, several tours of the orchestra to the Netherlands took place, in particular, the performance of the orchestra at the Oude Muziek festival in Utrecht, which was a triumphant success.

2009-2012

The orchestra tours abroad and participates with great success in major international festivals, including Nordlysfestivalen (Tromsø, 2009), Telemann Festival (Magdeburg, 2010), Earlymusic (St. Petersburg, 2009-2012). Pratum Integrum has collaborated with established European musicians in the field of historical performance: Trevor Pinnock, Peter Neumann, Sigiswald and Wiland Köiken, Alfredo Bernardini, Paolo Grazzi, Simona Kermes, Sarah Mingardo, Mireille Delensch, Paul Esswood, Philippe Jarussky, Christoph Rousset and others.

2006: Performances in Moscow, tours of Russia and participation in international festivals

Pratum Integrum performs in various halls, Moscow tours around Russia and abroad. Memorable for the orchestra were multiple performances at the December Evenings, concerts at major international festivals such as Tage Alter Musik (Regensburg, 2006), Musica Antiqua (Bruges, 2006).

2003

Reconstruction and recording of a concert for chembalo and orchestra in D major Bortnyansky

In 2003, Pavel Serbin, artistic director of Pratum Integrum, made his reconstruction of the orchestration and a version of the accompaniments of the concert for chembalo and orchestra in D major Dmitry Bortnyansky. In the same year, the Concert in a new edition was recorded by Olga Martynova (harpsichord) and the Pratum Integrum orchestra. The cadence here is also new, different from the other three that sounded in previous versions.

The orchestra was founded in Moscow in 2003 with the support of Essential Music and soon gained a reputation as an extremely unusual, bright and highly professional collective, loving hurricane rates and lively interpretations.

One of the first projects that I wanted to implement was dedicated to the main genius of Doglinkin music Maxim Berezovsky. He began to look for musicians for him. I came to one of the first concerts of our current artistic director Pavel Serbin - and saw people who play with a real European class. We brought together collective and when record was ended, it became clear that to dismiss these wonderful musicians would be just criminal, - the producer of orchestra Mikhail Serebryany in an interview of Colta.ru in 2009 remembered [1].

Discography

Pratum Integrum recorded more than fifteen albums on the Caro Mitis label ("juicy fruit," lat.), Many of them received high marks in the magazines Diapason, Toccata, Le Monde de la Musique, on the Positive Feedback Online forum. It is especially pleasant that German music performed by the orchestra has earned high praise from German critics: the fourth album of Telemann suites, released in 2011, received the prestigious Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik award.
