Owners

The Psion company with the headquarters in London is the famous producer of the protected pocket computers for application in the industry, trade and on transport. Psion is a pioneer of the market of electronic organizers, having provided the first such device in the eighties. Psion, being the owner of the Netbook trademark, in 2009 filed a lawsuit against Intel for copyright violation during creation of a new segment of the market of notebooks.

Originally Psion PLC thought the creator - David Potter - as developer company of the software. And it is valid, the first steps (since foundation year - 1980) Psion made in this direction - Sinclair ZX81 was engaged in development of computer games for once popular and in our country (better known under the name Spectrum), and it is quite successful. Having made the name in the computer world and having saved the original capital, the company began to enter other markets, then almost novel. Once tribute pays to Potter insight - he managed to see what then was obvious to not everyone, after all possibilities of electronic industry of that time and technology did not allow to speak about too strong miniaturization. However many producers of electronics, for example, of Sharp, already began release of programmable calculators and even some kind of microcomputers with the built-in interpreters of the BASIC.
