The team was founded in 2008 by Philip Chizhevsky and Maria Griliches.
The Questa Musica choir and orchestra includes leading Moscow musicians: instrumentalists and choral conductors, many of whom are active in solo creative and pedagogical activities.
The artistic director and conductor is Philip Chizhevsky.
The repertoire includes Russian and foreign classical music, works of the Renaissance, Baroque, as well as music of the 20th century and works of modern composers.
Among the major projects of the ensemble: the production of Henry Purcell's opera "Dido and Aeneas" (directed by A. Khasanov), the production of "The Story of a Soldier" by I. Staravinsky (directed by O. Glushkov), the Russian premiere of G. F. Handel's oratorio "The Triumph of Time and Insensitivity" (directed by K. Bogomolov, Stanislavsky's music theater), the Russian premiere of S. Nevsky's opera "Francis" (directed by V. Del. Del. Delfrey), B. bochia Within the framework of the project of the Department of Culture "Open Stage," together with the ensemble of percussion instruments Mark performed "Wedding" by I. Travinsky. The forces of the vocal ensemble Questa Musica together with the Azerbaijani symphony orchestra, the Azerbaijani and Russian premiere of L. The team actively cooperates with modern composers.
As part of K. Serebrennikov's project "Platform," Questa Musica together with the Dutch ensemble Vocaallab performed S. Nevsky's opera "Autland" under the direction of conductor Titus Engel (Switzerland) and "Passion for Nicodemus" A. Manotskova.
In 2015, the team was invited by the artistic director and director of the Electrotheater Boris Yukhananov to cooperate in the production of the opera series "Sverlians," which includes six opera performances (composers: Dmitry Kurlyandsky, Boris Filanovsky, Alexey Syumak, Sergei Nevsky, Alexey Sysoev, Vladimir Rannev). Another joint work with the electrotheater was the opera for violin and scientist "Galileo" (the idea of creating the project belongs to the violinist E. Revich).
At the invitation of the Department of Culture of the city, Moscow the choir and orchestra of Questa Musica took part in the first Russian project "Night of Music" (Moscow, 2013), with Spanish singer Evgenia Burgoyne performed at the V Baikal Christmas Festival in Buryatia (2014), Ulan-Ude presented the program "Russian Baroque" at the Baroque Music Festival in Austria (G. Lints, 2016), within the framework of the II International Festival "Enlightener," the team presented the monumental composition by A. Schnittke "Concert for the Choir" to the verses of the Armenian poet and theologian G. Narekatsi. (2016. Karelia. Valaam Island).
In June 2017, the soloists of the Questa Musica ensemble took part in the production of D. Courland's opera Octavia. Trepanation. " The world premiere of the play by B. Yukhananov and D. Kurlyandsky "Octavia" was held in Amsterdam as part of the 70th Holland Festival.
At the festival "December Evenings of Svyatoslav Richter," the choir and instrumental ensemble Questa Musica were prepared together with the wind ensemble of soloists London Baroque Brass (artistic director. Mark Bennett) presented the program of English Music (Moscow, Pushkin Museum, 2019).
The Questa Musica Choir and Orchestra are active in concert, performing the best examples of world musical culture, collaborating with leading concert halls and performers.
Projects with the participation of Questa Musica were repeatedly nominated for the Golden Mask Theater Award and recognized by music critics of the capital.
In 2019, the artistic director and conductor of the ensemble, Philip Chizhevsky, was awarded the BRAVO Music Prize and the Golden Mask Theater Prize.
