Universal search system Picollator performs information search in internet on the basis of the text, images or the combined requests including a photo and the text at the same time.
The automatic piFilter filter for moderation and management of graphic content in network or databases. The filter will recognize contents of images and blocks dangerous content for viewing by users.
The search system for mobile users of Picollator.mobi gives the chance to users of mobile devices to send a request for search directly from the mobile phone. A request is the photo made using the camera of the mobile device.
All solutions are based on the technologies of localization of objects developed by the company and image identifications.
History
The company is founded in September, 2006. The main office of the company and group of development is located in Samara, the Russian Federation.
The company name came from merge of two English words: "recognition" (recognition) and "mission" (mission, purpose, task). "A recognition mission" — the closest translation characterizing activity of firm.
In December, 2007 Recogmission released the beta of the search system Picollator. A system performed search of the multimedia information on the basis of the image loaded by the user. At the same time search results were based on contents of images, but not text descriptions to them. The next version which was started in the spring of 2008 allowed to find web resources with images of similar people on the basis of the content requests. In January, 2008 the company released mobile version for owners of mobile devices and at the same time the plug-in for Internet Explorer allowing to look for pictures in network through a context menu of the browser. Now by the company it is implemented the mixed semantic search and indexation in the text and images that allows to achieve the best results of ranging of resources in the Internet.
Technologies which are the cornerstone of solutions of the company at an early stage of development were tested in the software of identification of the personality according to the image of KRIMNET which is successfully working in a number of divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Recogmission regularly participates in the international conferences and forums: Digital Hollywood Fall (California, the USA, October, 2007), 4th was provided by Microsoft EU SME Day on a symposium of Global Technology Simposium at Stanford (San Francisco, the USA, March, 2007), to the Digital Management Solutions exhibition (Cologne, Germany, September, 2007) (Belgium, June, 2008).
The company is a finalist of tender Red Herring Europe 100 2008, the winner of competition Microsoft Business Start 2007, the finalist of Red Herring Global 100, the finalist of Mobile Excellence Awards 2008.
Interesting Facts
Picollator is the first-ever search system which is understanding contents of digital images, but not simply comparing them on textures and colors.
The possibility of correlation of the text and valid contents of images is for the first time implemented in Picollator.
