2021: Heidrick & Struggles bought RosExpert

In December 2021, the chief executive officer of X5 Retail ServiceIgor Shekhterman sold his Russian consulting company RosExpert the American Heidrick & Struggles (H&S). The cost of the transaction and other parameters of its participants did not disclose.

According to RBC, the purchase of RosExpert has become part of H&S's strategy to expand its presence in markets around the world, the company expects to become the largest player in this segment of the Russian consulting services market.

X5 head Igor Shekhterman sold consulting business in Russia to Americans

RosExpert will continue to work in Russia under the Heidrick & Struggles brand. The composition of the management will not change. The company plans to launch a motivational program in order to maintain the team until at least 2027.

According to Igor Shekhterman, who in 2015 became the chief executive officer of X5 Retail Group and withdrew from RosExpert management, for shareholders this transaction is a way to further develop the business strategy. It will open up new prospects for customers in Russia and give an impetus to development for the RosExpert team, the businessman added.
