Rostov NPP is a branch of Concern Rosenergoatom OJSC. This is the southernmost of the Russian nuclear power plants. It is located on the banks of the Tsimlyansk reservoir, 13.5 km from the city of Donbass. The station provides about 50% of electricity production in the Rostov region.
History
2010: Construction of power unit No. 4
Since 2010, the construction of power unit No. 4 with the VVER-1000 reactor was carried out. The physical launch of the 4th power unit (loading of nuclear fuel into the reactor) took place on December 6, 2017, and on February 1, 2018 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin , it launched the program for bringing power unit No. 4 of the Rostov NPP to design capacity.
Since February 21, 2018, block No. 4 was at the Pilot Operation stage, and on September 28, 2018 it was put into industrial operation.
2009: License for the construction of blocks No. 3 and No. 4
In 2009, Rostekhnadzor issued a license for the construction of blocks No. 3 and No. 4, the launch of which was planned for 2014 and 2016, respectively. By this time, 2 power units were operating at the Rostov NPP, the type of reactors was VVER-1000, the generating capacity was 2000 MW. The station provided about 15% of annual electricity generation in the Rostov region.
At power unit No. 3, for the first time in the post-Soviet history of Russian nuclear energy, the method of "in-line construction" of NPP power units was restored, ensuring the most efficient use of material and monetary resources and compliance with legislative deadlines for construction.
On September 17, 2015, the power unit was put into industrial operation.
2002: Resumption of construction of power unit No. 2
February 2002 - resumption of construction of power unit No. 2. December 10, 2010 - the power unit was put into industrial operation.
Power unit No. 2 of the Rostov NPP was the first Russian nuclear power unit put into industrial operation after the creation of State the atomic energy corporation "" and Rosatom the approval Government of the Russian Federation of the federal target program "Development of the nuclear energy complex."
2000: Continuation of construction of power unit No. 1
In 2000, Gosatomnadzor of Russia issued a license to continue the construction of power unit No. 1 of the Rostov NPP with the VVER-1000 reactor, and in 2001 - a license to operate the power unit. On March 30, 2001, the turbine generator of power unit No. 1 was included in the Unified Energy System of Russia.
December 25, 2001 - the power unit was put into industrial operation.
1979: Start of construction
The full-scale construction Rostovskaya atomic station began in October 1979. In 1990, the construction of the NPP was suspended, the station was transferred to conservation mode. Readiness power unit No. 1 amounted to 95%, No. 2 - 30%, the foundation slab of power unit No. 3 was built, a pit was dug for power unit No. 4.
