History

2021: Creation of JV to develop software for radiation therapy

Rusatom Healthcare JSC (a division accumulating the expertise of Rosatom State Corporation in the field of healthcare) and the Slovenian company Cosylab, specializing in the development and implementation of digital solutions in the field of nuclear medicine, created a joint venture - RuSat Digital Healthcare LLC - and began to develop software for radiation therapy. This was announced on December 9, 2021 by representatives of Rusatom Healthcare.

According to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, RuSat Digital Healthcare LLC with an authorized capital of 2.6 million rubles was registered on May 5, 2021 in Moscow. General Director - Alexey Krylov, founders - Rusatom Healthcare JSC and Kozilab Jayessy and Control of Systems Laboratories.

In 2022, Rusatom Healthcare will begin mass production of medical equipment for the treatment of oncological diseases using radiation therapy. Complexes based on low-energy (6 MeV) electron accelerators and devices for high-dose brachytherapy will be equipped with software, in the development of which Cosylab will take part together with RHK JSC.

Rosatom has created a company to develop IT solutions in the field of radiation therapy

When creating an interface for users, developers will take into account the wishes of the medical community, it is assumed that it will be functional and convenient. The software will fully comply with European Union medical standards and have a number of features, including the introduction of artificial intelligence to support decision-making and generate treatment plans. In addition, using machine learning methods, it combines the functions of dosimetric planning of patient radiation, administration and an oncological information and control system.

The digital product will take into account a complete set of modern treatment methods for remote, contact and adaptive radiation therapy of various types of radiation: electrons, photons, protons, as well as gamma radiation. The software will adapt to the needs of users and the infrastructure of the clinic. The possibility of integration with other manufacturers of radiation therapy equipment will allow combining all systems into a single platform, and integration into external networks and information systems will combine information from other departments of the clinic to ensure an integrated approach to the treatment of cancer.

CosyLab is a Slovenian developer of IT solutions, one of the leaders in the nuclear medicine segment. The company has experience in cooperation with Russian partners - earlier CosyLab  entered  into a collaboration with CERN and Samara National Research State University named after Academician S.P. Korolev on the development of an IT solution based on AI to optimize the service of linear accelerators. SmartLINAC The volume of investments in the project is estimated at 3.8-4.6 million rubles.

Rusatom Healthcare JSC is a member of Rosatom Group of Companies and is engaged in the development of various projects in the field of nuclear medicine. The company's portfolio includes the first Russian  Onyx linear accelerator  with an energy of 6 MeV (KLT-6 project) and the Brachium second-generation brachytherapy apparatus[1]
