2025: Onexim sold Sensorium Hall to Creative Programs Agency
The Onexim group of billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov sold the Fan Generation company, which owns the unfinished building of the Sensorium Hall concert hall in the Moscow City business center. The buyer was the Agency for Creative Programs, created by the Moscow Department of Culture. The deal was completed in early July 2025.
According to Vedomosti, the unfinished building of the concert complex in the central core of the business district is on the balance sheet of the acquired company. A representative of Onexima did not respond to a request for details of the deal.
The concept of building a concert hall in Moscow City was discussed back in the mid-1990s. However, the investor represented by the Onexim group began the practical implementation of the project only in the early 2010s. The facility is a nine-story structure with a total area of 38,300 square meters.
The complex is designed for 4,000 seats and is made in an architectural style reminiscent of a clockwork mechanism. According to the original design of the developers, the building should host concerts, exhibitions, theatrical performances and festivals. It was planned to use VR technologies for virtual events.
The initial cost of construction of the complex was estimated at more than $200 million. The completion of the construction was originally planned for 2016, but the deadlines were repeatedly postponed. The head of Fan Generation, Vladimir Kedrinsky, explained the delays by the difficulties with the introduction of the land plot into circulation.
It took considerable time to agree on the functional characteristics and architectural appearance of the building. In November 2021, Mosgosstroynadzor announced plans to complete construction by the end of 2023. According to two consultants who worked with the facility, the complex is 70% ready[1]
