2021: 163,000 user data breaches

According to Kommersant, the database contains the names of service users, email addresses, IP addresses, partial payment card numbers and payment amounts. A database with data of 163,000 users leaked to the Network, in the file - 2.35 GB of information.

Of the 163,000 unique records that the leaked database contains, about 50,000 are valid, Ashot Ohanesyan, founder of the DLBI data leak intelligence and darknet monitoring service, told the newspaper.

The service provides its users with mobile numbers "for rent." Such a service allows citizens to undergo verification in social networks, instant messengers and other online resources. According to the publication, as a rule, such resources are used by SIM cards mass purchased from individuals or legal entities.

The general director of Infosecurity a Softline Kirill Solodovnikov explained that the merged base can sms-activate.ru be used by fraudsters and marketers. Payment transaction data, partial card numbers, email addresses allow you to create a profile of the owner. With this information, social engineering scammers can manipulate their victims.

The main danger for users of such services is deanonymization, since they are often used for dubious purposes, for example, to twist likes on social networks or on voting platforms, to create and verify fake accounts, says Alexei Drozd, head of the information security department of SearchInform.^[1]
