The Sokolniki Congress and Exhibition Center is a world-class business and recreation platform. 1959: American National Exhibition
In 1959, the Sokolniki Park hosted the American National Exhibition.
Most Muscovites occupied pavilions with household appliances, as well as samples of overseas garden and park art.
1954
XVIII century: Peter I turns the place into a recreation area for Muscovites and foreigners
Peter I did not like falconry, so at the beginning of the 18th century he arranged a place for suburban recreation for Muscovites. He even ordered to cut through the May alley, where he arranged feasts for foreign craftsmen and artisans.
XVI century: Sokolnichy yard for royal and grand-ducal falconry
Sokolniki got its name due to the fact that the falconer yard was previously located here. Where the park is now located, in the XVI-XVII centuries, royal and grand-ducal falconry hunts took place. Falconers also lived here, and there were enclosures with trained falcons.
