2020: Honeywell purchased Sparta Systems
At the end of December, 2020 Honeywell announced purchase of Sparta Systems company for $1.3 billion. It is expected that this transaction and the subsequent cooperation with Sparta Systems will allow Honeywell to expand a scope of the Honeywell Forge platform which helps business to analyze data from sensors from the systems of Internet of Things.
The main solution Sparta Systems - TrackWise Digital constructed on the Salesforce platform and providing possibilities of the reporting and analytics to help clients to reach the high level of quality and compliance to requirements. Sparta also uses QualityWise.ai technologies thanks to what in TrackWise Digital support of natural languag processing, detection of signals and level of reliability of proofs is implemented.
According to Honeywell, it is going to integrate these tools with Honeywell Forge, thereby having expanded a platform scope. The company already offers technologies, systems and services of automation for clients in the field of medicobiological sciences within the packet to Fast Track Automation which is used by developers of new vaccines and methods of treatment.
The chief executive of Honeywell Connected Enterprise Ku Dallara noted that the Sparta tools will help to improve communication between quality data and production data for clients from a biofarma. The company also stated that it will improve TrackWise Digital some own artificial intelligence technologies and machine learning and integrates the platform with operational data from other fields of business of the clients.
The analyst Holger Müller from Constellation Research noted that for Honeywell it makes sense to add for a quality management system capability in the Forge platform. Honeywell intends to close the transaction on Sparta Systems acquisition in the first quarter 2021.[1]
