History
The Svetlana trademark is nearly hundred years old, but the history of Svetlana company began much earlier. The St. Petersburg entrepreneur Yakov Moiseevich Ayvaz became its founder.
- 1889 Ya.M. Ayvaz opened on Nevsky Avenue a workshop on production of paper tissue sleeves. Gradually expanding production, Ayvaz organized release of a series of tobacco machines.
- 1911 The joint-stock company "Ya.M. Ayvaz" "… for any production of machines and technical products" is organized. The joint-stock company receives the large defense order and purchases a big ground on the Vyborg side in Forest for construction of the new plant.
- 1913 JSC Ya. M. Ayvaz purchased the patent of the German engineer Weber for production of electric lamps of incandescence with strong tungsten thread and began construction of the new body for their release.
- 1914 At the plant of joint-stock company "Ya.M. Ayvaz" the first electric bulb is released. On a lamp otmarkirovan the Svetlana trademark. By the beginning of World War I the Ayvaz plant - one of the largest enterprises of St. Petersburg numbering 6000 people.
- 1920 The Ayvaz plant is nationalized and separated into two independent enterprises: Machine-building plant No. 1 (afterwards the plant of F. Engels) and the Svetlana plant which became the basic enterprise for release of electrolamps.
- 1928 The Svetlana plant and the Leningrad electrovacuum plant are joint under the general name "the Electrovacuum plant "Svetlana". Beginning of production of receiving and intensifying and oscillator tubes. New product development is charged to the factory research laboratory headed by Sergey Arkadyevich Vekshinsky.
- 1933 The factory laboratory under the leadership of Vekshinsky received the status industry. From this point Svetlana becomes the main scientific and technical and production center of the Soviet electronics. From 1933 to 1941 in OVL 400 samples of electrovacuum devices were developed.
- 1937 At the international exhibition in Paris oscillator tubes of Svetlana won the highest prize "Grand Prix".
- 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War
In the first days of war about 2000 employees of the Svetlana plant and the plant of Engels left on the front. More than 400 workers became sandruzhinnitsa, built defense sooruzhenya. In July, 1941 evacuation of the plants to the deep back began, and in September the evacuated workshops of Svetlana in Novosibirsk began to give the first products. In the besieged Leningrad Svetlana continued to work. Except the electrovacuum products necessary for Army, the plant released ampoules for anti-tank instigators, detonators, glasses for direction finders, compression molds for traffic jams to mines. In laboratory of the plant regeneration of lamps of M600 for Leningrad transmitting and also GU499 lamps, for the first radars was adjusted. Only in 1942 20 thousand lighting lamps were regenerated and produced again. Svetlanovtsa sacredly revere memory of employees of the Svetlana plant and the name of Engels which fell on fronts of war and the dead in besieged Leningrad.
- 1947 For development of new types of devices the special design office from which afterwards were selected with CB in the separate specialized directions is created.
- 1949 The plant of x-ray devices is created. The experimental design bureau x-ray laboratory "Svetlana" is transferred afterwards to the jurisdiction of this plant and transformed to experimental design bureau of x-ray devices.
- 1952 The plant of F. Engels is transferred by it to the jurisdiction of electronic industry for production of a very high frequency of devices for the radar equipment. The new CB on design of electronic instruments is created and retrofitting of the plant is carried out.
- 1956 On Svetlana for the first time in the USSR the serial release of germanium transistors of development of the Moscow NII-35 is begun. The experimental design bureau semiconductor laboratory of Svetlana at the same time developed and put the low-power high and low-noise germanium and silicon transistors used during creation of the first space satellites in production.
- 1962 Based on related industrial enterprises and design offices of Leningrad and the northwest economic region on territorial industry sign the Leningrad consolidation of electronic instrument making Svetlana is created.
- 1972 The Leningrad design office specializing in development of big integrated microcircuits and products of ADP equipment was a part of the consolidation "Svetlana". When preserving traditional activities the accent of development of consolidation was postponed for microelectronics.
- 70 – The 80th years of the twentieth century.
These years the major devices and systems were developed and mastered in serial production:
- digital and analog microcircuits based on bipolar technology CMOS;
- small-size x-ray tubes with the cold cathode;
- a series of modulator lamps for a radar-location;
- a series of powerful oscillator tubes for traveling amplifiers;
- the most mass calculator for accounting calculations of C3-22;
- the USSR's first single-board computer of C5-01;
- microprocessor modules C5-21 and S5-22;
- development of a unique generating tetrode with power output in a continuous duty to 2 megawatts for heavy-duty broadcasting is complete;
- the first domestic micro computer on one crystal and some other developments is created.
- 1992 The Leningrad consolidation of electronic instrument making Svetlana is transformed in public joint stock company.
- 1992-1993 On the basis of Scientific-industrial complexes LOEP "Svetlana" affiliated enterprises of the joint-stock company – private companies on the main activities of Svetlana are created.
- 1996 Under the agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Science and Administration of Sankt-Petereburg in one of the body of Svetlana the innovation center "Regional Fund of Scientific and Technical Development of St. Petersburg" is open.
The agreement on cooperation is signed with the German firm "Heimann Systems" on development and delivery of a series of x-ray tubes for the equipment of customs control and inspection of loads.
- 1997 The Svetlana joint-stock company was a part of Russian Electronics holding.
- 1999 Haymann company gave Svetlana-Rentgen Ltd the rank "The Best Supplier of Year".
Based on the innovation and technical center "Regional Fund of Development of St. Petersburg" and a number of industrial productions of the competitive innovation products developed by the ITTs small enterprises, the order of Ministry of Science and Technology creates the specialized Svetlana innovation and industrial complex (IIC).
- 2006 JSC Svetlana together with federal state unitary enterprise NPP Istok for the first time in Russia was created and tested a prototype of the powerful transistor on nanoheterostructure of AlGaN/GaN for operating frequency to 10 GHz with a power density of 3.8 W/mm.
- 2007 The first 10 W and 20 W domestic energy saving semiconductor lamps of this world for use on railway transport, construction and housing and public utilities on nitride nanoheterostructures of own production are created.
- 2008 Serial production is organized and deliveries for the benefit of the industry of epitaxial materials in the system of arsenide of gallium are begun.
- 2009 JSC Svetlana together with JSC VNIIRA and JSC Experimental Design Bureau Planeta develops the first domestic wideband amplifier on nanoheteroepitaxial heterostructures of nitride of gallium on the frequency range of 50-3500 MHz with gain amount 19 dB and with a power output of 2 W.
