2023: Russian Helix acquires Synevo

On February 10, 2023, the Helix laboratory service announced the purchase of Synevo, the largest private laboratory diagnostics network in Belarus, from the international Medicover holding, which has one centralized laboratory in Minsk and 58 medical offices throughout the country. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In a report to investors for the third quarter of 2022, Medicover announced that it intends to sell its assets in Belarus, at that time an agreement on the sale had already been signed. We are talking about the companies LLC Sinevo and LLC Real Estate Vostok. The amount of the transaction was estimated at €14.5 million minus transaction costs. The documents indicated that Medicover revenue in Belarus in 2021 amounted to €21.7 million and €15.3 million for the nine months of 2022.

After that, the Belarusian government added Medicover to the list of organizations whose foreign participants are prohibited from disposing of shares without the permission of the authorities.

During 2023, the Russian company intends to gradually transfer Synevo to the Helix brand.

We will open new laboratory stations in Minsk and the regions, expand the list of services provided, and introduce the latest developments in information technologies. The entire team of the Sinevo laboratory network will continue to work in the same composition, the Helix group said.

Synevo laboratories work in Germany, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and in most CIS countries. The company has been represented on the Russian market since 2013, its portfolio included five points in Moscow and eight in Crimea and Sevastopol. In 2017, amid losses, Synevo left Russia. In Belarus, Synevo performs more than 1.3 thousand types of research on biochemistry, immunology, cytology, genetics, etc. (by February 2023).[1]
