2025: Launch of milk production plant in Kaluga region
In May 2025, the Vietnamese company TH Group launched the first line of a dairy in the Kaluga region with a total investment of ₽38 billion. The design capacity of the first line is 500 tons of milk per day with the prospect of increasing to 1 thousand tons after the enterprise reaches full capacity.
According to Interfax, in addition to milk, the company plans to produce kefir, mummer, yogurt, sour cream and cream. The first of nine production lines was commissioned. The company will reach full capacity in the second quarter of 2026, according to the government of the Kaluga region.
The Minister of Agriculture of the region, Alexander Efremov, said that the products of the new dairy will be sold in the stores of the Central Federal District. According to him, it will be one of the largest dairy plants in the country, working on raw materials produced on TH Group's own farms in the Kaluga and Moscow regions.
The construction of the plant began in 2018, initially the volume of investments was estimated at $155 million. The project was supposed to be implemented in three stages with the launch of the first stage in 2019 and reaching full capacity by 2021. Subsequently, the company several times postponed the commissioning of the facility - first to 2024, then to 2025.
The dairy is part of the TH Group's large-scale investment program in the Kaluga Region, which includes three projects. In addition to the processing enterprise, the company develops two dairy livestock complexes in the Ulyanovsk and Khvastovichi districts, each of which is designed for 6 thousand heads of dairy herd.
After the completion of all three projects, 824 jobs will be created in the region. The processing plant is located in the Borovsky district of the Kaluga region and is a key element of the company's vertically integrated production chain.[1]
