Tacx

Tacx — the large producer of cycle machines which are put under a back wheel or instead of a back wheel. On this equipment users place own bicycle and twist pedals, without leaving borders of the apartment or house.  The cycle machine  allows to regulate loading, to select the nature of a training. As a rule, it is cheaper than the full-fledged exercise bike and takes less places.

In addition to cycle machines, the Dutch company Tacx develops the software for trainings indoors and also monitors of a warm rhythm, speed sensors and rotating speeds  of pedals, bottles for water, bicycle carriages and  accessories  for service of bicycles.

In the Tacx program driving simulation functions, including races with other users online are provided in one of six virtual worlds. Cyclists can be prepared for a competition, having transferred GPS data from the race circuit.

History

2019: Garmin purchased Tacx

On February 12, 2019 Garmin announced Tacx acquisition therefore the buyer enters the market of trainings indoors. Financial terms of transaction which the companies intend to close in the second quarter 2019 do not reveal.

Production Tacx cycle machine

Having absorbed Tacx, the Garmin company will be able to develop almost all aspects of training indoor environment. Garmin will release GPS devices, bicycle power meters, exercise machines and the software for training which will interact with each other communications between trainings indoors and in the open air.^[1]
