Basis

• 1872 Dominion Oil Cloth began production of linoleum, later the company will be called Domco.
• 1880 Alfred Sommer opened a felt factory in Mouzon (France), and Joseph Allibert opened a shoe factory in 1910. So began the story of Sommer Allibert group.

Development in international markets, acquisitions

• 1986 Sommer Allibert is invested in Domco.
• 1987 Merger of Swedish Match AB and the German company Pegulan Werke AG. Formation of the new company Tarkett Pegulan AG.
• 1980-90 Sintelon becomes a Joint Stock Company.
• 1991-94 Domco acquires Azrock and vinyl manufacturer Nafco
• 1995 Synthelon begins production in Russia together with the company "Roofing and Polymers" under the Synteros brand.

• 1997 Tarkett and the divisions of Sommer Allibert, producing flooring, merge and form the company Tarkett Sommer AG, in the same year the company issues its shares on the German stock exchange.

1999 Tarkett and Harris Tarkett merge with Domco. From now on, the company is called Domco Tarkett Inc.

Recent past

• 2002 Combining Tarkett Sommer and Sintelon.

• 2004 Merger of the two largest manufacturers of sports flooring - Tarkett with Fieldturf.
