2015: Telecity is sold to Equinix for $3.6 billion
On May 29, 2015 Equinix announced purchase of the British competitor of Telecity. Acquisition value is 2.35 billion pounds sterling (about $3.6 billion).
The consolidation Equinix and Telecity will lead to creation of the largest player in the European market of data centers. Equinix manages more than 100 data processing centers worldwide, 30 of them are in the territory of the countries of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Telecity has 39 DPCs (as much at Interxion), 11 of which are located in Europe.
