The position of the Ombudsman for Children in St. Petersburg is the state position of St. Petersburg.
Main objectives of the Representative:
- ensuring basic guarantees of the state protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the child, recovery of the violated the rights and legitimate interests of the child;
- assistance of free implementation and to recovery of the violated the rights and legitimate interests of the child;
- preparation of suggestions for improvement of the legislation of St. Petersburg on ensuring basic guarantees of the state protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the child;
- government relations of St. Petersburg, local government authorities in St. Petersburg, the organizations of St. Petersburg in the field of providing and protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the child;
- informing public on a status of observance and protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the child;
- legal education of citizens in the field of implementation, observance and protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the child.
Priority task of the Representative - protection of the rights and legitimate interests of orphan children, children without parental support, and other categories of the children who are in a difficult life situation and also persons from among orphan children and children without parental support.
