On May 31 the former editor of department of culture of The Moscow Times Kevin O'Flinn claimed that Derk Sauer buys the online version of the edition from Demyan Kudryavtsev's family. According to O'Flinn, further non-governmental organization from the Netherlands is going to reduce personnel of the newspaper considerably.

Later Derk Sauer denied this information, having reported that he only discusses with owners how he can help the edition.

Later the owner of The Moscow Times Demyan Kudryavtsev commented on RBC the appeared information on sale of the edition. According to him, the edition will be transferred to non-profit fund.

Demyan Kudryavtsev told RBC that from it "nothing was redeemed".

"We integrated and we contribute Moscow Times to a certain non-profit fund which will develop it which directors will be I and Derk [Sauer]" — Demyan Kudryavtsev told. He noted that he remains the cofounder of Moscow Times. "The non-profit fund has no owners. I remain a cofounder" — Kudryavtsev added.

The founder of the newspaper Derk Sauer also reacted to news about the redemption of the newspaper on the Twitter, commenting on article in the Dutch edition Vrij Nederland about the return to the Russian media market.

"I did not buy Moscow Times. The property right will pass to the organization. Eve Hartog will be a managing editor" — he said.

In a conversation with RBC Sauer told that The Moscow Times will stop being the commercial project.

"We decided to integrate forces with Demyan. I do not see The Moscow Times as the commercial project, from here and the plan of non-profit fund. All income will be used to make the edition stronger. Any profit for us" — Sauer told.

He noted that The Moscow Times will focus on a digital format and will explain to foreign audience (as in Russia, and abroad) what occurs in Russia.

"We will also work at the Chinese market with the monthly printing edition. I will not participate in daily management, but I will be the main person for acceptance of strategic decisions" — Sauer added.[1]

Kudryavtsev had a citizenship of Israel earlier, he refused it, but cannot prove this fact to the regulator – to Roskomnadzor. The State of Israel, as well as at many other countries, has no form of confirmation of failure from nationality, the interlocutor of Vedomosti explains. And department does not accept the declaration of abandonment provided in Roskomnadzor.

This information to Vedomosti was confirmed by the employee of Roskomnadzor. The re-registration of media on the wife if she is only a citizen of Russia, does not raise questions at Roskomnadzor, the employee of department says.
