History
2003
In 2003 VTU of B.V. Schukin is renamed into Theatrical institute of Boris Schukin.
1945
In 1945 the school is equated to higher educational institutions.
1939
In 1939 at the age of 45 years Boris Vasilyevich Schukin, the brilliant actor of the Vakhtangov theater and the teacher of School suddenly dies. In memory of him the same year the name of Schukin is appropriated to School.
1937
In 1937 the school moves to again built building to the address Bolshoy Nikolopeskovsky Lane 12a and separates from theater. The school lives as technical school, but the training period already becomes four-year.
1926
In 1926 the theater studio receives the status of the State theater of Evgeny Vakhtangov. Till 1937 the school continues to exist in theater. Students are accepted in school only if the theater has a need for new actors.
1922
On May 29, 1922 Evgeny Bagrationovich dies. From the first meeting with studiyets in December, 1913 did not pass also ten years, and Vakhtangov managed to lay the indestructible foundation of school and theater which is alive and now. His personality, his ideas, his perception of a System and methods of education was so powerful that, having remained some, studiyets could save school and defend the independence.
1920
In 1920, understanding that he is seriously ill and wishing to save studio, E.B. Vakhtangov asks the teachers to turn on it in number of studios of Moscow Art Theatre. So it becomes the Third studio of Moscow Art Theatre, having opened in 1921 new edition of the performance "Saint Anthony's Miracle" … The address: Arbat, 26 is the small half-ruined mansion which studiyets by own efforts turned into theater. E.B. Vakhtangov still will manage to deliver here the fairy tale by K. Gozzi Princess Turandot, a performance in which that creative direction which he called "fantastic realism" most brightly was expressed.
1914-1918
On October 23, 1914 the first occupation, the first lecture of E.B. Vakhtangov in studio took place. This day is also considered a birthday of Theatrical institute of Boris Schukin.
The next performance — "Saint Anthony's Miracle" according to the play by M. Maeterlinck — Studio (at different times being called differently: "Student's", Mansurovskaya (on location), "E.B. Vakhtangov's Studio") will play in Mansurovsky Lane only on September 15, 1918. There will be a formation of studio ethics and mastering of elements of School, folding of strong and already not quite amateur collective before.
