2024: Doubling of battery production after 1 billion rubles of investments
The Tangstone Ryazan Battery Plant doubled its production capacity, reaching 1.2 million units per year. This became possible thanks to investments in the amount of ₽1 billion, which was announced on August 7, 2024 by the press service of the Industrial Development Fund (FRP).
According to Interfax, of the total investment, ₽460 million was provided to the FRP in the form of preferential loans. The general director of the plant, Yuri Vasiliev, noted that the main goal of the RAZ-Industry project was to master the full cycle of battery production with the introduction of new technologies and the expansion of the product range.
On new equipment, the plant produces lead-acid batteries under the Gladiator and Tungsten brands for the automotive market, as well as industrial batteries under the Stark brand. The main part of the products is intended for the Russian market and is used to complete KAMAZ trucks and NefAZ special equipment. Products are also exported to, Kazakhstan,, Uzbekistan,, Belarus,, and Azerbaijan. Kyrgyzstan Tajikistan Georgia Saudi Arabia
In addition, Tangstone has licenses for the design and production of batteries for Rosatom State Corporation. Batteries are used at nuclear enterprises and nuclear power plants as backup power supplies and to smooth out consumption peaks.
Tangstone Plant was founded in 2004 and today is one of the largest manufacturers of lead-acid batteries in Russia. The owner of the plant is Akku-Fertrib LLC, Moscow, which has 12 branches in various regions of Russia and a network of subsidiaries in neighboring countries. The main activity of the company is the production and supply of stationary and traction lead-acid batteries, as well as the implementation of complex projects using electrical industrial equipment.[1]
