2024: Introduction for ₽485 million industrial robots for the production of semi-trailers

The UralSpecTrans company launched in November 2024 an automated workshop for the production of specialized semi-trailers in MiassChelyabinsk region. The project was implemented with funding in the amount of ₽485 million, of which ₽306 million was provided by the Industrial Development Fund.

According to the Fund, the new workshop with an area of ​ ​ 5.2 thousand square meters is equipped with a robotic complex for the preparation and painting of frames, an automated line for painting parts and a rail system for moving goods.

UralSpecTrans has introduced industrial robots for the production of semi-trailers for ₽485 million

Alexey Menshikov, Director of UralSpecTrans LLC, noted that the introduction of domestic equipment made it possible to increase paint performance by 47% and reduce the production time of one semi-trailer by 30%.

The production capacity of the new workshop is 660 semi-trailers per year. The company produces five types of products: tanks, container ships, assortment trucks, heavy trucks and on-board semi-trailers.

The level of localization of production reaches from 75% to 100%, depending on the type of product. In the manufacture of semi-trailers, mainly Russian raw materials and components are used.

Tanks are designed to transport liquid cargo, including drinking and service water, petroleum products, and chemicals. Container ships are used to transport block-modular equipment, and assortment trucks are used to transport timber.

Among the customers of the company's products are the largest Russian corporations: Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegas, Transneft and Alrosa, as well as enterprises in the motor transport, communal and agricultural industries.

The new workshop introduced the principles of lean production, organized a in-line method of welding, painting and assembly of semi-trailers. The installed equipment made it possible to optimize production processes and increase the efficiency of the enterprise.[1]
