History

2023: NPK Avtopribor bought Valeo's Russian business

NPK Avtopribor bought the Russian business of the French auto parts manufacturer Valeo. This deal was announced on August 18, 2023.

Valeo clarified that the completion of the transaction will depend on obtaining permission from regulators. Under the terms, Valeo will have a 10-year buyback option, which will be possible after six years. At the same time, the financial and other parameters of the agreement are not disclosed.

Valeo sold the Russian business to the Avtopribor plant

Also, Valeo representatives noted that the group's sales in Russia previously accounted for less than a percent of the company's total revenue. At the same time, according to the results of the first half of 2023, the company's total revenue rose by 19%, to 11.2 billion euros. According to Valeo, the decision to sell the Russian business will save 158 jobs in the Russian Federation. The sale of the business is unprofitable, but it will not entail losses either, the company added.

Valeo is a French manufacturer of automotive components and spare parts. The organization, which turned 100 in 2023, is headquartered in Paris. After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, the company stopped supplying components to the Russian Federation.

According to the website of NPK Avtopribor, the company is located in Vladimir and is the first plant in Russia for the production of car kits. The company produces more than 500 products for both domestic and foreign automotive industries.^[1]
