As part of increasing its presence in the CIS market, Vertiv is developing relations with partners, including within the framework of significant data center support projects for the market. So, in June 2018, the company announced the expansion of a partnership with the Russian data center operator IXcellerate, with which it has been cooperating since 2013. 2021
Purchase of rival E&I Engineering Group for $2 billion
In early September 2021, UPS manufacturer Vertiv announced the purchase of rival E&I Engineering Group. Vertiv will pay $1.8 billion for the company and its subsidiary Powerbar Gulf, including $1.17 billion in cash and $630 million in Vertiv shares. Read more here.
Opening of a factory in Croatia
On April 22, 2021, Vertiv Holdings Co announced the opening of a plant in Rugvice (Croatia) to expand the supply of integrated modular solutions to EMEA countries .
Thanks to this, production areas increased by 130% and 60%, respectively. In addition, this allowed us to expand production facilities to meet the needs of the growing market for modular data centers of factory readiness.

2020: Entering the New York Stock Exchange

Shareholders of GS Acquisition Holdings Corp approved the merger with Vertiv on February 6, 2019. After the transaction closed, Vertiv's previous majority owner, Platinum Equity, owned approximately 38% of Vertiv Holdings Co's outstanding common stock, former shareholders of GS Acquisition Holdings Corp held approximately 25% interest. The remaining 37% were with investors. How the shares became distributed after Vertiv was put on the stock exchange is not specified.[1]
2019: Merger with GS Acquisition Holdings Corp
On December 10, 2019, Vertiv announced its intention to become an open stock company through a merger with GS Acquisition Holdings Corp. That deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020 and Vertiv shares will be listed on the NYSE stock exchange with the code VRT.
As a result of the transaction, the name of the company will be changed to Vertiv Holdings Co. Platinum Equity will retain an approximately 38% stake in Vertiv.
2016: Platinum Equity buys Emerson Network Power $4 billion and renames it Vertiv
In early December 2016, Emerson, a manufacturer of technology solutions for industrial, commercial and consumer markets, completed the sale of Network Power to a group of investors led by American Platinum Equity. As a result of the transaction, the sold company was renamed and received a new CEO.
The sale of Emerson Network Power to Platinum Equity for $4 billion was announced in August 2016. On December 1, the deal was closed, after which Emerson Network Power began operating under the name Vertiv, which came from two English words - "vertex" (vertex) and "active" (active).
The company was led by Rob Johnson, who was managing partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers before this appointment, and even earlier he led the uninterruptible power supply company American Power Conversion (APC), which was bought for $6.1 billion at the end of 2006 by Schneider Electric, which subsequently created the UPS brand APC by Schneider Electric.
As part of the rebranding of Emerson Network Power, the www.vertivco.com website was created, and in January 2017 they will launch an advertising campaign in which Vertiv will begin promoting its brand under the motto "Your task is critical."
