Veterinary Committee with the State Inspection of the Altai Republic

Among the executive authorities of the Altai Republic, the Veterinary Committee with the State Inspection occupies a special position both in its functions and in structure. This department is responsible for the implementation of a unified state policy in the region in the field of prevention and elimination of animal diseases, their treatment, protection of the population from diseases common to humans and animals, as well as exercises state supervision and control in the field of veterinary medicine, control over the organization of veterinary services for livestock and fish farming.

The committee uses an end-to-end vertical structure to exercise its powers. The management apparatus of this department has three functional structural divisions (departments). It is directly subordinate to 10 district animal disease stations, as well as the Republican Animal Disease Station and the Republican Veterinary Laboratory. The total number of workers in veterinary institutions is 400 people.
