2024: Net profit growth by 1.6 times to ₽935 million
Vitabank's net profit in 2024 increased 1.6 times to ₽935 million compared to 2023. The total financial result of the bank worsened sixfold and amounted to ₽173 million against ₽1,05 billion a year earlier in 2023. The results of the credit institution were published in May 2025.
According to Delovoy Petersburg, the indicator of the total financial result is the most important for credit institutions, since it includes income or losses from various transactions. The bank's assets in 2024 decreased to ₽9,3 billion from ₽13,2 billion in 2023, which allowed it to take 166th place in the ranking in terms of assets.
Until 2022, Vitabank was a St. Petersburg bank. Sovcombank announced its acquisition on February 21, 2022, but on February 24, 2022, the buyer fell under sanctions. Vitabank published a significant fact about the change of ownership only a month after the transaction.
According to the bank, Oleg Yarmushevich, a former top manager of Sovcombank, became the ultimate beneficiary with an 85% share. Previously, he headed the board of directors of the Volga-Caspian Joint-Stock Bank, headed the board of Oney Bank during pre-sale preparation, and was also appointed chairman of the board of the National Factoring Company after its purchase by Sovcombank.
Experts suggest that registration of the purchase for the former top manager was carried out to avoid sanctions risks. Through it, certain operations began to be carried out in favor of the clients of the "senior" credit institution, which made it possible to multiply the revenue and income of the bank.
In 2021, Vitabank's assets did not exceed ₽1,6 billion, he occupied 281st place according to Interfax"." The results of 2022 Central Bank Russia were classified, but in 2023 assets amounted to ₽13,2 billion. In November 2024, Vitabank was included USA in the sanctions lists.[1]

In mid-January 2026, it became known that the shareholders of Sovcombank would consider the issue of joining Vitabank, one of the oldest credit institutions in Russia. It was founded in the USSR in 1990 by Leningrad authorities and local catering enterprises.
The materials of the shareholders meeting say that Sovcombank is planned to be reorganized by joining Vitabank. At the same time, the charter of the credit institution will be approved in a new version. The issue of reorganization will be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of shareholders on February 13, 2026, which will be held in absentia.
As Interfax notes, by the beginning of the 2000s, the St. Petersburg mill of businessman Alexander Aladushkin became the main owner of Vitabank. And in February 2022, control in this credit institution was acquired by the former deputy chairman of Sovcombank Kirill Sokolov. Then it was said that a controlling stake in Vitabank was acquired in order to create various payment services on its license using the Best2pay technology platform owned by Sovcombank. As part of the transaction, Sokolov received 54% of Vitabank, and Sovcombank itself - 31%.
Subsequently, Sovcombank, against the background of sanctions, withdrew from Vitabank's capital, while its stake went to Sokolov, who became the owner of 85% of the shares. In March 2022, this share passed to another former top manager of Sovcombank - Oleg Yarmushevich, who two months later put up an offer for the purchase of shares in the credit institution from minority shareholders. As a result, Yarmushevich's share in Vitabank's capital reached about 95.3%, which allowed him to declare a forced buyback of the remaining shares, but the Central Bank recognized this requirement as not complying with the law.[2]
2023: Bank takes part in series of "cash dollars for gold" deals - Reuters
Russian lender Vitabank imported banknotes of the Turkish gold trading company Demas Kuyumculuk worth 64.8 million dollars in 2022 and 2023. During the same period, Vitabank exported $59.5 million worth of gold and silver to the Turkish company, the agency wrote. Reuters

According to the interlocutor, the delivery of banknotes from the UAE to Russia was the only solution that Demas found to complete long-term contracts signed before the entry into force of Western sanctions with Russian gold suppliers, while complying with Turkish and international rules related to cross-border payments.
According to the interlocutor, under the conditions of sanctions that actually cut off Russia from the Western financial system, payment of accounts by traditional electronic transfer was no longer possible. In the third quarter of 2023, when all pre-war contracts with Russian companies were completed, Demas stopped bilateral trade, the source said.

Kirill Sokolov's refusal to buy a share
On May 16, 2022, TAdviser received information that Kirill Sokolov refused to buy a stake in Vita Bank.
In February 2022, Kirill Sokolov announced the purchase of a 93.6% stake in Vita Bank to create various payment services on his license using the Best2pay technology platform.
After the introduction sanctions against Russia , the project to create these services became impracticable due to the departure from countries international and, payment systems Visa MasterCard as it was planned to actively use their infrastructure and solutions. In this regard, Kirill Sokolov refused to acquire a controlling stake in Vita Bank and develop fintech projects.
| My refusal to buy a stake in Vita Bank is due to the departure from Russia of international payment systems, in particular, MasterCard, which played an important role in plans to create fintech services. For May 2022, I am focused on creating my own investment fund. The fund will specialize in investments in dividend companies, from the capital of which foreign players and entrepreneurs leaving abroad leave, as well as in companies that are not able to develop due to other circumstances. My entire professional experience is M&A and integration projects. Given the fact that I managed to realize my assets in the banking sector before the start of the turbulence period, a good moment has come for entering new projects. Many investors have already shown interest in the fund - Kirill Sokolov commented on his decision. |
Kirill Sokolov's statement on the purchase of Vita Bank
The former deputy chairman of the board Sovcombank Kirill Sokolov bought Vita Bank to create fintech a company on his license. Sovcombank will become one of the investors in the project, the press service of the credit institution said in February 2022.
The development of solutions for the new fintech startup (its name is not announced by February 22, 2022) will use the license of Vita Bank and the solutions of the Best2Pay platform owned by Sovcombank. According to Kirill Sokolov, Sovcombank will retain a large stake, but the new bank will be completely independent, "since the correct financial infrastructure project... should not be controlled by one, even if a large partner. " Sokolov added that other investors, including Sovcombank's competitors, will be involved in the future project.
| I hatched such an idea for a long time, because I clearly understood that in a universal bank, projects for other organizations face competition for resources and other conflicts of interest. We have found an ideal partnership formula with Sovcombank shareholders, "said the former deputy chairman of the board of Sovcombank. |
Some Best2pay products will be transferred to their own banking license, the founder of the company Kirill Radchenko will oversee this process. According to him, the service will continue to provide services to companies, and will add credit, brokerage products and services for small businesses to build the project.
The main shareholder of Vita Bank, registered in St. Petersburg, with a share of 93.6% at the end of January 2022 was Alexander Aladushkin's Kirov Leningrad Bakery Products Plant. Another 1.6% of the bank belonged to the company "Concept Finance" Natalia Voloshko, 4.8% - minority shareholders, follows from the materials of the credit institution.[3]
