2024: GAP "Resource" bought "Vladimir Standard" for billions of rubles

In August 2024, it became known that the largest producer of poultry meat in Russia, GAP Resource, closed a deal to acquire the Vladimir Standard company, which specializes in the production of sausages. The value of the transaction is estimated at up to ₽4,5 billion.

According to Kommersant, in early August 2024, Resource Food Project JSC acquired 30% in the main legal entity of Vladimir Standard. The remaining shares belong to Elena Karakulina, Diana Schaliaho and Irina Sirenko. GAP "Resource" plans to consolidate 100% of the company, which requires the approval of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The petition has already been filed, but the timing of its consideration has not yet been specified.

GAP "Resource" bought the manufacturer of sausages "Vladimir Standard" for billions of rubles

GAP "Resource" is the leader of the Russian market for the production of broiler meat, in 2023 the company produced 1.04 million tons of live weight products. The holding is also engaged in the production of sausages, vegetable oils and dairy products, owning the brands Blagoyar, Smoke Dymych and Rossiya. The company "Vladimir Standard" was founded in 2000 and until 2022 belonged to the deputy of the Vladimir Legislative Assembly Pavel Antov. The main brands of the company are Vladimir Standard, Telyatino and Vladbeef.

Experts attribute the acquisition of the Vladimir Standard to the general trend towards the consolidation of the meat market in Russia. The head of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin, notes that in the face of lower prices for poultry meat, GAP Resource is actively looking for opportunities to increase profitability through expanding production capacities and strengthening its presence in the sausage market.

Against the background of lower prices for poultry meat, the demand for sausages in Russia is showing growth. According to NielsenIQ analysts, from March 2023 to March 2024, sales of meat products in physical terms increased by 7%, and in monetary terms - by 13.4%. A special growth is observed in the segment of raw sausages, the demand for which increased by 30.7% in physical terms and by 31.6% in monetary terms.[1]
