Volkhov branch JSC Apatit (earlier Metakhy)

The Volkhov branch JSC Apatit (the Volkhov chemical cluster of the PhosAgro Group) is the only Russian producer of tripolyphosphate of sodium and one of leaders in Russia in production of mineral fertilizers. The enterprise (the former name – Metakhim) was created in 2003 after separation of the Volkhov aluminum plant into chemical and metallurgical productions.

History

2019: Renaming into the Volkhov branch JSC Apatit

On April 19, 2019 the JSC Metakhim enterprise is renamed the Volkhov branch JSC Apatit.

2012: Occurrence about the structure of PhosAgro

In in 2012 the enterprise entered the structure of the PhosAgro Group.

2010

For 2010 the enterprise holds a steady position in the market, year after year progressing up in the list of producers of chemical products. The main efforts of specialists of Metakhim are directed to mastering of the new markets and types of products, strengthening of positive image of the enterprise, expansion of geography of deliveries. Success basis — strict observance and continuous improvement of technology processes, high quality of products, accurate accomplishment of contractual commitments, orientation to requirements of the market and skillful implementation of market mechanisms of management.

The turned-out chemical products, including:

• Calcareous magneziyevy gumboil for the iron and steel industry.
• Sulfuric acid (since 1962).
• Sodium tripolyphosphate (since 1994).
• Potassium sulfate (since 1994).
• Trinatriyfosfat (since 1995).
• High-aluminous cement (since 1995).
• Aluminum sulfate (since 1998).

The enterprise has the developed transport infrastructure and has the considerable potential of further development of production.

2004: Production of 78,295 tons sodium tripolyphosphate

The enterprise produces (data at the end of 2004) the tripolyphosphate of sodium of 78,295 tons, potash purified in kind 99% 8,861 tons potash in 100% calculation of 46,285 tons, sulfuric acid of 124,979 tons.

1950-60

In the late fifties – the beginning of the 60th years on the Volkhov aluminum plant powerful chemical production was constructed.
