2026: Konstantin Zhuchkov: "You can't create a market out of nothing"

EdTech expert Konstantin Zhuchkov spoke about why the scaling of educational projects rests not on sales, but on understanding real demand and system management. In 2025, Zhuchkov conducted scientific research at the GoCoding educational network in the United States and continues to study how a systematic approach to demand diagnostics and the use of AI can turn marketing from a source of constant friction into a managed process. In an interview, he shared how working with customer demand in a scaling environment led him to rethink marketing as a managed process, and why a systematic approach to diagnosing needs is important not only for sales growth, but also for the sustainability of educational projects in general. 2024

The volume of the global market for educational online services reached $300 billion

In 2024, spending on the global online educational services market amounted to $299.67 billion. More than a third of this amount fell on the North American region. The situation in this area is discussed in the Fortune Business Insights review presented on November 27, 2025.

E-learning involves the use of digital devices, information technologies and the Internet to gain knowledge and interaction between participants in the educational process. This model includes webinars, online lectures, group discussions, chats with a teacher, all kinds of tests, etc.

The study said the market is growing steadily due to a number of factors, including the numerous amenities that e-learning platforms provide. This approach allows you to learn at any convenient time and from any place, adjusting classes to work or other things. There is no need for frequent trips to an educational institution or moving to another region where the selected university is based: this provides a significant reduction in costs. All educational materials are available online, which eliminates the need to buy literature or visit the library. The e-learning model is the best option for people with disabilities.

Artificial intelligence is called another driver of the industry. Neural networks are changing the approach to creating, optimizing and providing educational content. AI automates such basic tasks as the formation of a course program, translation of materials, adaptation and assessment of students: this contributes to improving the quality and efficiency of training while reducing costs. Through analysis of student behavior and preferences, AI algorithms can generate personalized models with a higher degree of user engagement and retention.

In addition, there is a growing demand for advanced training and retraining of personnel in various industries. With ever-changing business processes shaped by new technologies such as AI, automation and big data analytics, companies face the need to expand employee skills. E-learning platforms provide scalable, flexible and less costly training models that help increase workers' knowledge without disrupting work.

Technological advances have a positive impact on the industry. For example, the introduction of virtual VR (), augmented () AR and mixed (MR) reality provides a profound immersive effect: this contributes to practical learning without the risk of harm to health or damage to expensive equipment. This approach is in demand in industries such as health care manufacturing, aerospace and power.

Analysts divide the market into corporate, academic and government segments. The first in 2024 accounted for more than half of the expenses - $174.97 billion, while the contribution of the academic direction amounted to 29.31%. The cloud services sector accounted for the largest share of costs - $223.38 billion. From a geographical point of view, North America leads with 35.7%, or $107.11 billion. Major industry players globally are:

In 2025, the e-learning market is expected to reach $356.66 billion. Fortune Business Insights analysts believe that in the future, the CAGR will be 20.39%. Thus, by 2032, costs may increase to $1.31 trillion.[1]

A good web product should still affect the overall literacy rate of young users

The "What Kids Are Reading" report for 2024, based on survey data from more than 1.2 million students from the UK and Ireland, showed a 4.4% drop in the number of books read by schoolchildren. The study found that this decline is most pronounced in secondary schools. Indeed, high-quality literature in paper format is often not available to everyone and not at all times. Andrei Ivanovsky, a leading software engineer at the British technology company Contextxt Ltd, specializing in the field of EdTech, proposed his vision for solving this problem. Read more here.

2023: Global Digital Learning Market Grows to $237.3 Billion in a Year

In 2023, the global digital learning market reached $237.3 billion. For comparison, in 2022, the figure was $195.8 billion. Thus, an increase of about 21% was recorded. The relevant data is reflected in the Market Research Future report published in mid-July 2024.

One of the key factors in the growth of the industry is the increasing penetration of the Internet - primarily in developing countries. This allows students to access educational materials regardless of their geographic location. Another driver is the proliferation of mobile devices that allow you to study materials and perform tasks anywhere, anytime. Online education platforms provide additional flexibility in terms of class schedules, formats and content, meeting a variety of needs. At the same time, elements of gamification contribute to a higher level of student involvement in the process of gaining knowledge compared to traditional models.

Among the significant players are named Adobe, Aptara, Articulate, Certpoint, Cisco Systems, Citrix Systems, D2L Corporation, Microsoft, Oracle and SAP. North America is the largest market for online education: the region accounted for $89.67 billion in revenue in 2022. Europe is in second place in terms of spending, and the Asia-Pacific region closes the top three.

In general, as noted, the e-learning segment is a rapidly developing and competitive industry. Leading players are investing heavily in expanding the suite of services and improving the quality of services. According to Market Research Future estimates, the CAGR (compound percentage CAGR) in the market under consideration from 2023 to 2032 will be 21.2%. As a result, by the end of this period, expenses will reach $1.1 trillion.[2]
