Business of Microsoft grows in Russia quicker than the market

The Microsoft corporation summed up the results of 2011 financial year and came to a conclusion that its business in the Russian market advances growth rates of the IT sector in general due to increase in demand for solutions and active work with partners.

The Microsoft company summed up the results of activity in Russia for 2011 financial year (the period from July, 2010 to June of this year inclusive). Business of the company during this period of dews together with the market of software in Russia, even a little it advancing, said in the official statement. The market of software, by the estimates of Microsoft based on data of IDC increased by 19% and made about $2.3 billion.

Let's remind that exact indicators of growth in percentage or monetary value in Microsoft are traditionally not called: such is the policy of the company in Russia. By estimates of analysts of Finam, in 2010 financial year revenue of the Russian division of Microsoft made $1.2-1.3 billion. According to the results of all 2010 revenue of the company in Russia increased by 20%.

Tatyana Zemtsova, the analyst of Finam, reported to TAdviser that by approximate estimates, revenue of Microsoft in Russia made about $1.45-1.6 billion in 2011 financial year that corresponds to more than 20% gain to levels of previous year.

As Nikolay Pryanishnikov, the president of Microsoft in Russia commented, in the left financial year of corporation it was succeeded to show significant growth on all strategic directions of business development of the company. "Means, we chose the correct growth strategy and effectively we put it into practice", - he said.

The company notes that increase in demand for solutions of the company in different segments became one of drivers of increase in revenue. Technologies for ensuring joint work and also business solution of Microsoft enjoy the greatest popularity. In addition, construction of data centers by the large companies increases demand for management tools infrastructure and applications and also for solutions on virtualization and creation of a private cloud based on Microsoft Hyper-V, said in release.

Mikhail Ehrenburg, the president of the Asteros group, says that business of a project implementation team of implementation and sale of licenses of Microsoft "significantly grew" for the last year. Growth of number of the implemented projects was about 50%, generally at the expense of infrastructure projects based on the solutions Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business (before Microsoft Lync), Hyper-V, product families for management of System Center. Also the number of implementations of portal solutions based on Microsoft SharePoint increased. Growth in sales of licenses made 140%.

Felix Muchnik, the CEO of Softkey company, also noted that for the last year sales of products of Microsoft "steadily grew in Softkey". The best dynamics was shown by solutions for control and planning of business processes, such as Dynamics CRM Workgroup Server, Microsoft Sharepoint Server, Microsoft Project. "In general sales according to such solutions of Microsoft increased more than by 2.5 times – by 166%", – he added.

Besides, business partners of the company in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM direction for 2011 financial year considerably grew: for example, for 150% at AND Project and for 200% at NORBIT.

Start of new cloud solutions became one of significant events in the Russian market for Microsoft last year. So, the Office 365 service is already available within the updated program of licensing Enterprise Agreement and in proposals of the partner companies. The cloud platform of Windows Azure can use thanks to solutions of Softline company.

There are achievements and in creation of private clouds. For example, the Svyaznoy group which constructed a cloud based on Microsoft Hyper-V Cloud managed to save on purchase and operation of new servers, to release labor resources of IT department and to increase efficiency of his employees. About 35 million users of Mail.ru service have today an opportunity to browse documents directly in the browser using Office Web Apps, said in the report of the company.

Microsoft continues to develop the partner network. During the period from July, 2010 to June, 2011 at most of partners of the company business selling products and solutions of Microsoft advanced market growth. For example, at Softline company it made 43%, and PCWARE Russia has 111%.

Last year Microsoft changed a number of basic conditions for partners. Since March, 2011 Microsoft began to conduct settlings with the Russian partners in rubles in all territory of the country. And in December, 2010 the special prices on business applications of the company for new customers of a segment of SMB were announced. This offer worked only in Russia and positively influenced business development of partners. According to Daniil Morgalyuk, the CEO of Navicon, the number of the new delivery contracts and deployment of the ERP system from Microsoft concluded by integrator grew by 2.5 times.
