Having worked with ERP systems of MS Nav and Abacus, the Biocad pharmaceutical company passed to 1C

The Moscow region company "Biocad" which is engaged in release of pharmaceutical products and research and development in the field of creation of medications completed implementation of the third ERP system for the last few years – solutions of 1C.

As the director of information technology of Biocad Alexander Blokhin told TAdviser, the company had a long way of search of a suitable ERP system. When in 2005-2006 business of the company ripened before control automation by resources, Biocad selected the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system (Navision) as a basis for corporate CIS. However, this project was not complete, a system worked about two months and was contracted.

"Then in Biocad other managers were engaged in development and deployment of IT strategy", - Alexander Blokhin explained, - "As far as I know, the main problem of the project was the fact that at that time in Navision the module of production was worked insufficiently out, and its completion demanded big temporary resources, than it was initially supposed, and the project was complete". Respectively, with implementers from Impact-Soft company of the relation of Biocad came to the end.

Implementation of the ERP system of Abacus from domestic vendor Omega became the next step of Biokad. According to Alexander Blokhin, this system quite satisfied the company on the functionality, and accounting of all company was transferred from January 1, 2007 to it.

However, eventually it became clear that became Biocad the hostage of other extreme. On the one hand, the domestic vendor "was closer than the Russian company to a body", with another - support of a system was performed only by specialists Omega, and, so, was extremely monopolized. Generally, it is a problem for all the business systems which are not widely presented at the market with the only developer.

"If not this circumstance, we perhaps would continue to use Abacus still. In process of business development also requirements of our company to the ERP solution grew and their implementation in this system became inexpedient", - Alexander Blokhin told.

So the choice of new ERP became the next step of Biocad at the beginning of 2010. The company considered including the Nav platform and also ERP systems from SAP and Oracle, however, on a ratio of price/quality stopped on the solution of 1C. "An important factor for benefit of 1C, returning to our bitter experience, there was vozmozhnostsamostoyatelny support of a system and an existence of successful implementations on pharmproizvodstvo", - Alexander explained.

Acted as 1C integrator of the project "Success algorithm". The software product "1C:Enterprise 8 is the basis for the ERP system. Pharmproizvodstvo", as DBMS is used by IBM DB2. New ERP covered all key business areas: financial processes, order management, purchases, stocks, production and others. A part of functionality was also finished according to specifics of activity of Biokad.

The project budget does not reveal, 50 jobs are automated. Concerning economic effect of implementation in Biokada specify that all project of creation of new ERP cost the company in such amount which would leave on support of Abacus in only two years.
