Parallels concludes cloud partnership with Open-Xchange

Parallels signed the supplier agreement of a free system of collective work and electronic document management of Open-Xchange. The subject of the agreement – distribution of Open-Xchange through the providers who are already using a cloud platform from Parallels. It is expected that thanks to the agreement the number of users of Open-Xchange will increase from 24 to 40 million worldwide.
Parallels and Open-Xchange companies announced conclusion of an agreement within which the Open-Xchange solution will be provided based on six hosting companies which are already using the platform from Parallels.
"Cooperation with Parallels strongly advanced our business and will allow us to grow from 24 to 40 million users this year, – Rafael Laguna, CEO Open-Xchange says. – When we relied on transition from internal software to software, optimized for cloud suppliers, we began to cooperate with Parallels, and now we move further already within the new agreement".
According to Konstantin Anisimov, the partnership director of Parallels company in Russia, the CIS, the Baltic States and in Israel, the forecast of growth of number of users stated by Open-Xchange developers is quite realistic: "First, the product is good in itself and is competent spozitsionirovan. Secondly, it will extend through an ecosystem of Parallels Automation which includes hundreds of partners worldwide, at each of which, in turn, thousands of end customers".
From the companies which signed the agreement with Parallels two are located in Ireland: it is Blacknight Solutions and Irish Domains Ltd, two companies are located in the Pacific Rim, one in the USA and one in Israel. From them, according to the press release, Blacknight Solutions is going to transfer to Open-Xchange of 70000 e-mails, and migration, similar on scale, is expected in Irish Domains.
For Parallels the rate on solution SaaS in the field of e-mail has strategic character: "Corporate e-mail will pass into clouds soon. Actually, in the USA it already happened, – Konstantin Anisimov reports. – The Microsoft company which is a developer of the most popular Microsoft Exchange software product, more than a half of income gains from cloud option of the product".
According to Parallels, Microsoft Exchange is the solution which almost ideally satisfies needs of business users. "However the market needed the cloud product similar in functionality to the proprietary application from MS but is cheaper, and Open-Xchange – just such product", – Konstanin Anisimov considers.
