The number of the firms planning updating or implementation of schedule systems of resources of the enterprise this year will be lower, unlike previous. At the same time vendors will continue development of additional functionality to the operating systems.

According to Forrester Research, the number of the companies planning investments into the ERP-of a system (schedule system of resources of the enterprise) will decrease this year, despite of the general expected growth of IT expenses.

25% from about 900 companies polled by Forrester are going to carry out updating, expansion or implementation of ERP systems, in comparison with 29% of last year, follows from the report of the analyst Paul Hamerman. But 72% from them are "in standby mode, being going to stand still or without having specific plans of investments into ERP in 2011".

About a half of customers of ERP use the product releases which are lagging behind on two versions from flowing, the report says. But the expiring support of Microsoft Windows and increase in prices connected with it will stimulate growth of number of updates eventually. However in general, the market of ERP nevertheless was recovered in comparison with indicators of "catastrophic" 2009, Hamerman considers.

Many clients will not be able to afford updating for some time, nevertheless, solution providers will continue development of functionality and additions. These trends concern options of cloud deployment, mobile applications and the built-in business process modeling. As expected, one of the most considerable starts of the product ERP - Oracle Fusion Applications will happen in the first quarter this year. The public modestly expects from Oracle of emergence of long-awaited software which should integrate all the best that exists in different variations of ERP, in a set of the next generation today.

Fusion Applications prepares in the form of modules and will be available to deployment both at the enterprise, and in a cloud. Oracle underlines that clients will carry out the Fusion installation at such speed as it will be required to them.

It is expected also that SAP will become the newsmaker this year, having released a series of the SaaS-applications (the software as service), it is supposed - in the form of expansions of ERP systems at the enterprises and also the mobile software on the platform combining technology of SAP with that that it is purchased as a result of Sybase purchase.
