Ivan Vasilievich Sovetov was born on March 25, 1982 in Moscow.

Deputy Head of Rosleskhoz for Digital Transformation
On May 20, 2020, TAdviser became known that Ivan Sovetov was appointed deputy head of the Federal Forestry Agency for Digital Transformation (CDTO). The corresponding government order was published[3] on the official portal of legal information.
In March, the Advisers took part in a meeting of CDTO and CDTO candidates with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
2021: Appointment to the post of head of Rosleskhoz
On April 13, 2021, Ivan Sovetnikov was appointed the new head of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz). The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the press service of the Cabinet reports.

The advisers were replaced by Sergei Anoprienko, who transferred to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology (Ministry of Natural Resources), where he will work as deputy minister. The government's order on his appointment was also signed by Mikhail Mishustin in April 2021.
Before heading the Rosleskhoz, Ivan Sovetov was the deputy head of this department. In this position, he, among other things, oversaw the implementation of the departmental digital transformation program, as well as the implementation and maintenance of the unified state automated information system for accounting for wood and transactions with it, the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation notes.
The change of head of Rosleskhoz occurred two months after the Government of the Russian Federation approved the strategy for the development of the forest complex until 2030. It is assumed that the contribution of this industry to the country's economy by the specified year should double and amount to 1.14 trillion rubles. It was noted that the achievement of such an indicator will be possible with comprehensive work in a number of areas, such as digitalization of the industry.
A key role in the strategy, as emphasized in the Cabinet, is the reorientation of the industry from the export of raw timber to the production of high value-added products.[4]
