Both for Murmansk and for the northern seas, Yakov Mikhailovich is not a stranger, <…>he knows perfectly well the specifics of the organization of Arctic shipping. Of course, there are serious challenges ahead, but I am sure that his experience as a manager will have a positive effect on the development of Atomflot.

According to a RBC source, the transition to Atomflot will be a large professional elevator for Antonov. At the same time, the new head of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise will have to face big problems of both an organizational, economic and technological nature.

The new Director General will have to solve two opposite tasks together with colleagues in the Northern Sea Route Development Directorate. On the one hand, they will solve the issue of the payback of icebreakers under construction, on the other, they will have to provide a competitive freight rate in order to attract shipowners to the Northern Sea Route, the source said.[1]
